TPE sheath compound with cUR for +120°C / +125°C

The new TPE sheath compound from Kabel Sterner GmbH offers significant advantages over other plastic compounds in the specified temperature range.

Premium Features:

  • Cost-effective alternative to cross-linked or fluorinated products

  • TPE sheath compound in combination with TPE or FEP cores* (*cUR approval: +150°C and +200°C / CSA +150°C and +200°C / extremely thin wall thicknesses: 0.125 mm (5 mils),
very good media and chemical resistance,
    excellent electrical properties)

  • Low space requirement due to extremely thin wall thicknesses:
    0.6 mm (25 mils) up to 1,000 V

  • cUR approval for temperature range -40°C to +120°C /
    CSA +125°C

  • Automotive applications of temperature class C according to ISO 6722 (-40°C to +125°C)

  • Voltage classes: 300 V, 600 V, and 1,000 V

Further Properties:

  • Very good chemical resistance

  • Free of paint-wetting impairment substances (LABS-free)

  • ATEX compliant

  • No cross-linking, therefore recyclable

  • Shielded and unshielded versions

  • Excellent aging properties: decrease in tensile strength and elongation at 158°C / 7d: < 25%

  • Flame test VW1 and FT1

  • Good flame retardancy due to halogenated material component

Application

  • Applications with elevated ambient temperature

  • Automotive applications of temperature class C according to ISO 6722 (-40°C to +125°C)

  • Excellent for static and dynamic applications due to good bending and alternating behavior

Complies with standards:

  • Compliant with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU

  • ATEX compliant (depending on constructive design)

  • RoHS, REACH, and China REACH compliance

  • UL Standard AWM (Appliance Wire Material) Styles 22331, 22332, 22333, 22334, 22335 and 22336 36 AWG to 9 AWG (0.014 mm² to 6 mm²)

  • Canadian Standard CSA C22.2 No. 210

  • Automotive cables FLR31Y / T125 with reduced wall thickness
