TPE conductor compound with cUR for +120°C / +125°C

The new TPE conductor compound from Kabel Sterner GmbH offers significant advantages over other plastic compounds in the specified temperature range.

Premium Properties:

  • Cost-effective alternative to cross-linked conductors and conductors with fluoropolymers

  • Minimal space requirement due to extremely thin wall thicknesses:
    0.2 mm (8 mils)

  • cUR approval for TPE

  • Temperature range -40°C to +120°C / CSA +125°C

  • Voltage classes: 300V, 600V and 1,000V

Additional Properties:

  • Excellent aging properties: Decrease in tensile strength and elongation at 158°C/7d: < 25%

  • Suitable for internal wiring, e.g. in control cabinets, “Internal Wiring”

  • Temperature class C according to ISO 6722 (-40°C to +125°C)

  • Meets ISO 6722 “needle abrasion” depending on cross-section

  • Flame retardant according to UL 1581 / CSA C22.2 No. 210 through halogenated component: Horizontal flame test FT2

  • Very good chemical resistance

  • Free from paint wetting inhibiting properties (LABS-free)

  • No cross-linking, therefore recyclable

Application:

  • As conductors in temperature-resistant cables

  • Conductors for internal wiring, e.g. in control cabinets

  • Also where mechanical stress is present

  • Excellently suited for dynamic applications due to good bending and flexing behavior

  • Automotive applications of temperature class C according to ISO 6722 (-40°C to +125°C)

Complies with standards:

  • UL Standard AWM (Appliance Wire Material) Styles 11958, 11959 and 11960 (all +120°C or +125°C), Styles 11150 (+105°C, 300V) or 11856 (+105°C, 1,000V), 30AWG to 6AWG (0.05 mm² to 16 mm²),
all Styles also for “Internal Wiring”

  • Canadian Standard – CSA C22.2 No. 210
    for “mechanical abuse”

  • Automotive cables FLR31Y / T125 with reduced wall thickness

  • ATEX-compliant, but depending on design structure

  • Compliant with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU

  • RoHS, REACH and China REACH compliance
