Elevator Technology
Cables in elevator technology are specifically designed to withstand the high mechanical loads caused by vertical movements and acceleration forces. In addition to the weight of the cables themselves, they must also withstand constant movement and high tensile forces. These requirements make robust materials and customized designs indispensable.
The cables are available with modified PVC or halogen-free materials, which can optionally be equipped with flame retardant properties. For maximum safety and durability, strain relief elements such as Kevlar, sisal, nylon, or steel cables are used, which are adapted according to cable type, travel speed, and suspension length. Both round and flat cables can be supplied, with cross-sections and dimensions flexibly adapted to the requirements of the respective system.
Suspension Ropes and Elevator Cables:
Suspension ropes made of steel or textile fibers carry the weight of the cabin and counterweights. They enable precise vertical movement and must withstand extreme tensile forces.
Control Cables:
These cables connect the elevator cabin to the control system and transmit commands such as floor selection, door control, or emergency notifications. They are available as round or flat cables, highly flexible, and designed to easily follow the constant movements of the cabin.
Power Cables:
Trailing cables or flexible cables supply the cabin with power for lighting, doors, and emergency call systems. They are designed to stretch and contract with vertical movement without sustaining damage.
Data and Communication Cables:
These cables transmit important information about travel status, maintenance notifications, and enable communication between the cabin and the control system.
